New Communications Coordinator to Enhance Beachwood's Messaging Ability

Mayor Martin S. Horwitz announced today that Lynn B. Johnson will join the City of Beachwood as its first Communications Coordinator on May 30, 2018. This newly created position is designed to extend the reach of Beachwood's messaging ability. She will be responsible for the development, management and administration of strategic outreach, media relations and communications initiatives across all digital and print platforms.

"We are pleased to have Lynn joining our staff at City Hall," states Mayor Martin S. Horwitz. "Her presence represents the first step toward delivering on an issue I have been a proponent of since serving as Council President - to have a communications professional in the office daily whose job it is to get information out to the community quickly."

When moving to Ohio from Massachusetts in 2011, the Johnson family had three days to find a place to live - and they found a home in Beachwood. "Snowplows in the winter, waterslides in the summer ... moving to Beachwood was like winning the lottery," Lynn B. Johnson said.

It was her enthusiasm and ability to tum a phrase - plus 20 years of professional
communications, marketing and public relations experience that led Mayor Horwitz to hire Ms. Johnson. Lynn has served clients and organizations across industries, including technology, healthcare, and not-for-profit. For the past four years Lynn has served as the Director of Marketing and Communications for the Music Settlement.

Lynn's role as the Communications Coordinator will enable the City to have a central point of contact for media inquiries and for generating all community messaging. Her first task: spearheading the development of a strategic communications plan, including a focus on digital marketing and heightened visibility through public relations.
