6:45 PM – 7:15 PM: Children ages 18 months to five years with a caregiver are invited to attend Pajama Storytime at the Beachwood library. Wear your PJs and join the fun of stories, songs, and fingerplays. Free of charge, no registration necessary

7:00 PM: Enjoy a special performance with The Music Settlement at the Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage (2929 Richmond Rd), which will feature rarely heard works of Leonard Bernstein. Performers include Ida Mercer, Natasha Simmons, and more! Tickets ($10/$5) are available online


THURSDAY, January 30
6:30 PM: City Hall (25325 Fairmount Blvd.) hosts the Beachwood Planning & Zoning Meeting.  Today is also the last day to drop off any broken holiday lights for recycling at the Public Works Department (23355 Mercantile Rd).

FRIDAY, January 31
9:30 AM – 11:00 AM: Aspire Greater Cleveland provides a free drop-in conversation session at the Beachwood Branch of the Cuyahoga County Public Library (25501 Shaker Blvd) for registered ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) students. Students must attend an ESOL orientation session before attending the drop-in conversation session. For orientation and class information, please call 833.ASPIRE2 or visit aspiregreatercleveland.org.

10:00 AM – 11:00 AM: The Center 4 Brain Health (27100 Cedar Rd) presents “Laughter, Humor, and Humor Styles” with Jennifer Turner, MA, PhD(c). She will discuss different styles of humor and preference, observe humor style differences in movies and TV shows, and discuss the importance of keeping a sense of humor throughout life. Registration is free & open to the public

Saturday, February 1
1:00 PM: Support the Ronald McDonald House of Cleveland with a 45-minute CycleBar class (3355 Richmond Rd. #101a). Tickets and more information are available online

3:00 – 4:30 PM: Anshe Chesed Fairmount Temple (23737 Fairmount Blvd.) presents “Best Family Show in Las Vegas”-winning Popovich Comedy Pet Theater. The Popovich Comedy Pet Theater is entertainment for the whole family, featuring a unique blend of physical comedy and the juggling skills of former Moscow Circus veteran Gregory Popovich as well as the extraordinary talents of his entourage of performing pets, acrobats, mimes and contortionists. Popovich’s entourage consists of more than 30 amazingly talented rescued pets… including house cats, dogs, geese, white doves, parrots, and Diamond the Shetland Pony! 4:30 – 6:00 PM: Cleveland Yoga in Beachwood (3355 Richmond Rd) presents 90 minutes of Power Vinyasa Yoga set to the best of the '90s music. Amy Schneider will get you moving powerfully and playfully. This class is designed for all levels of practitioners. You may want to bring a towel or “yogi toes” as mats tend to get slippery when wet. The studio is heated to 90 degrees. 6:00 PM: Beachwood has a band competing in the 2020 Tri-C High School Rock Off at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame tonight; I’m rooting for Splash Landing! I rarely recommend locations outside of Beachwood but this one is worth the drive to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Doors Open at 6:00 pm with the first band scheduled to perform at 6:30. Tickets are available online and cost $10

SUNDAY, February 2
6:30 PM Kickoff: Watch the San Francisco 49ers face the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl 54, broadcast on Fox. Demi Lovato will sing the National Anthem and the halftime show will be performed by Jennifer Lopez and Shakira. It’s a great opportunity to build community by inviting your neighbors over for the game. 

WEDNESDAY, February 5
7:00 – 8:00 PM: The Beachwood library (25501 Shaker Blvd.) presents China: Art and Technology. The Cleveland Museum of Art will be on-site to share how the Chinese manufactured bronze, silk, and ceramics: the function of the artifacts and China’s vast history.  Free & open to the public: seats are going fast so register online now
