THURSDAY, December 19

10:00 AM -11:00 AM: See Through the Eyes of the Artist: Michelangelo with art historian Felicia Zavarella Stadelman today at the Beachwood Branch (25501 Shaker Blvd.) of the Cuyahoga County Public Library. Free and open to the public -- registration preferred. 

2:00 - 7:00 PM: American Red Cross Blood Drive at the Beachwood Community Center (25225 Fairmount Blvd.): Give Life. Give Blood!

Beachwood City Schools close for Winter Break after today’s instruction and will resume on Monday, January 6.

SATURDAY, December 21
10:00 AM – 1:00 PM: Get your holiday media covered electronically – learn how to borrow free eBooks, eAudiobooks, eMagazines and more from the Beachwood Library (25501 Shaker Blvd.). Bring your mobile device to get started!

1:00 – 4:00 PM: Sing along with “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” at Beachwood Place Center Court (26300 Cedar Rd.) today. While you’re there, celebrate the season with entertainment, holiday treats, a Beary Merry Scavenger Hunt, and more! SUNDAY, December 22
It’s the first night of Hanukkah! Be sure to enjoy the illuminated menorah outside of Beachwood Place at Cedar Road and Richmond Road. 

1:00 – 3:00 PM: Enjoy the Friends of the Maltz Museum’s Annual Chanukah Candle Lighting today. People of all faiths and backgrounds are invited to hear the story of Chanukah, sing along to traditional tunes with live music performance, make holiday crafts, in addition to exploring the Museum. Free with registration. ( named this one of the eight “Best Hanukkah Celebrations in the United States”!)

MONDAY, December 23
7:00: The final Beachwood City Council meeting of 2019. We will recognize outgoing Council President Brian Linick for his service. 

TUESDAY, December 24
City of Beachwood offices will close at noon today and remain closed until the morning of Thursday, December 26. 

WEDNESDAY, December 25
Merry Christmas! Wrapping paper is typically recyclable, so long as it doesn’t have any glitter on it and isn’t metallic (both of which ultimately contaminate the other paper recyclables).

11:00 AM – 5:00 PM: The Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage will hold their annual Christmas Day Can-Can when you give what you can or pay what you can with a canned food donation. 

THURSDAY, December 26
If your rubbish collection is typically on Wednesday, then be sure to have your bins to the tree lawn by 7:30 this morning for a holiday-schedule collection.

6:30 PM: Blu Monsoon plays tonight at the Hyde Park Prime Steakhouse (26300 Chagrin Blvd.). Enjoy their jazz, blues and funk arrangements! 

FRIDAY, December 27
6:00 PM: Holiday Hoops is at Lifetime Fitness tonight and tomorrow. This clinic features a fun variety of basketball dribbling, passing and shooting drills that focus on skill development, followed by friendly skill contests and competitive games.
