[ARCHIVED] Wishing Beachwood a fun and safe Halloween

The original item was published from October 31, 2017 9:11 AM to December 29, 2017 11:30 AM

On behalf of the City of Beachwood, I would like to wish everyone a safe and Happy Halloween. Trick-or-Treat in Beachwood will take place tonight, Tuesday, October 31 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

For the fourth year in a row, the Beachwood Police Department will be passing out glow sticks on the sidewalk during Trick-or-Treat hours. Glow sticks, glow necklaces, head lamps or other reflective gear are good safety measures for trick-or-treaters of all ages.

Parents: Please keep a close eye on young ones, particularly when crossing streets. When you get home, don’t forget to look through your children’s candy stash to ensure everything is in a sealed package.

Residents: Please turn your front porch lights on if you are passing out Halloween treats and turn them off if you are not.

Drivers: If you are out during trick-or-treat hours, please proceed with extra caution. Thank you for your patience.

It never hurts to review some Halloween safety tips. There are many good ones including these from Safe Kids- https://www.safekids.org/tip/halloween-safety-tips - or these from the Centers for Disease and Control (CDC) - http://www.cdc.gov/family/halloween/.

Thank you for making tonight a safe and fun experience for all. Happy Halloween!
