Flag_17The warm weather has arrived, flowers have bloomed, school is almost out and the Beachwood Family Aquatic Center is preparing to open. As we approach Memorial Day weekend, here a few things to note:

Flag on Display
You may notice as you drive down Richmond Road that a gigantic, 1800 square foot American flag is on display on the lawn in front of City Hall. This flag is part of our annual tribute to honor the soldiers who have lost their lives in service to our country. Please feel free to stop and park at City Hall to get a closer view and pay honor to those who have paid the ultimate price to preserve our freedom.

Mulch Available for Resident
As you continue your spring clean-up and prepare for guests over the holiday weekend, please remember the City offers mulch for residents for $2 per bag. Our Service Department produces this organic mulch from double shredding brush that has been collected throughout the community. The mulch is made in Beachwood’s own composting facility. Mulch can be purchased at the Service Department, 23355 Mercantile Road. Stop by Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.  Please bring proof of residency.

Family Aquatic Center Opens
I hope many of you join us for opening day at Beachwood Family Aquatic Center on Saturday, May 27. The facility will be open for the holiday weekend on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. The full season runs daily from June 3 through August 15 and on weekends through September 4. Residents, if you haven’t purchased your memberships you can now do so in the Community Services Office at City Hall or at the Aquatic Center when open this weekend.   Don't forget your proof of residency.

I hope everyone has a safe, fun and relaxing Holiday weekend.
