[ARCHIVED] Gearing Up for Cold and Snow

The original item was published from December 4, 2015 2:21 PM to September 14, 2016 8:41 AM

SaltThis year, we have been truly blessed with mild weather throughout November, and thus far, in December. But before too long, the snow will hit us. And when it does, Beachwood is prepared.

Year after year, we take great pride in the high quality work our Service Department performs to keep Beachwood’s roadways safe.

Our salt supply is stocked and ready. I assure you, the City of Beachwood is equipped for the weather when it comes. And we want to make sure you are too.

While it might seem simple, as temperatures grow colder please take important precautions. Ensure you’ve performed the necessary routine maintenance on your vehicle. Wear warm clothing, including hats and gloves, which will protect you from the cold in the event of an accident. And most importantly, slow down. Ice can be unpredictable, but more time to react will certainly help.

The National Driving Safety Institute offers more helpful tips to keep you safe on the roads this winter. I encourage you to check them out here:

I wish all you a safe, healthy and happy winter.
