GavelThe City of Beachwood currently has openings on both our Civil Service Commission and on our Storm Water Commission.  The following is a brief explanation of both:

Civil Service Commission – 6 year term

The Civil Service Commission shall consist of three (3) residents of the City of Beachwood not holding any other City office to be appointed by the Mayor.  The Civil Service of the City of Beachwood is divided into the classified and unclassified service.  The Civil Service Commission shall make all necessary rules for its procedure, the appointment and promotion of persons in the classified service, independent of the general law of the State of Ohio where permitted to do so, and such other rules as the Commission determines to be necessary.  

Storm Water Commission – 4 year term

The function of the Storm Water Commission is to facilitate the development of a Storm Water Management Plan, as required by the United States Environmental Protection Agency as part of the Phase II Storm Water Discharge Regulations.

Both of these commissions meet on an as needed basis and are not on a regular monthly schedule.
