Tell us about yourself.
I have been married for 27 years to the love of my life, Lisa. We have two children in college. I spend much of my professional time at a desk, so I enjoy being active in my personal time. Walking, cycling and most recently spinning (indoor cycling) are among my favorites. I also enjoy action movies and a good game of chess.
Favorite part about working for Beachwood?
I have worked here for 18 years and my favorite part about the job is the dedicated and professional team that works for Beachwood. It’s motivating to work with a team that genuinely cares about the great community we serve.
What is a big goal you’d like to accomplish personally?
I would like to stay physically fit and go on a long distance bicycle tour. I’ve had my eye on cycling to Chautauqua, NY. I cycled there many years ago and it offers some breathtaking scenery. I made it there in one day. I always wonder if I could still make the trip in one day.
What are some of your favorite spots in and around Beachwood?
I really enjoy walking in the early morning around Beachwood looking at the wildlife. I have seen deer, rabbits, squirrels, ducks, chipmunks, and hawks, but thank goodness no coyote yet. Beachwood City Park West is incredible. My family uses it for sledding and cross country skiing in the winter and walking and cycling the rest of the year. Beachwood Mall is also a great place to walk around.
If you could pack up and leave for a vacation tomorrow, where would you go?
Hawaii. I have never been there before, but it looks so beautiful and relaxing.
What is your favorite band?
My favorite band changes every decade. Currently, I would have to say Walk the Moon. Everyone knows their hit song, “Shut Up and Dance,” but that is just one of many great ones.
Are you involved in any local charities?
The American Cancer Society and the Alzheimer’s Association are close to my heart having had family members and friends battle with both of those diseases. I am also passionate about Harvest for Hunger because no one should have to go hungry. I very much appreciate the City’s effort on our annual employee campaign.
What would surprise people about you?
So many people see me walking and cycling, I guess they may be surprised to learn that I DO in fact own a car.
