The Community Services Department is composed of both the Human Services and Recreation Departments.
Challenge Island Winter Break Polynesia & Winter Wonderland
December 26-29, 9 AM-Noon, Grades K-5, Beachwood Community Center Join Challenge Island® for adventures in fire and ice as we take on challenges while exploring Polynesia’s volcanoes, ocean, and tropical climate as well as a winter wonderland! Winter Fashion Design Camp for Sustainable Style
December 27-29, 9 AM-Noon (Grades 3-5), 1-4 PM (Grades 6-8), Beachwood Community Center Campers learn about fashion design principles with hands on activities. Color, fabric, silhouette/shape/proportion, fashion illustration, flat sketching, design creation, trend spotting, social media, styling, sewing sustainability in fashion and MORE! The students will learn how to upscale clothing from our upcycle shop (or their own closets) and will share their reimagined designs in our lookbook photoshoot and at a fashion show for family and friends.
