Cuyahoga County Preliminary Flood Maps

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) recently updated the Cuyahoga County flood hazard maps. These maps are important tools used in the effort to protect lives and properties in the City of Beachwood. By showing the extent to which areas of our community and individual proprieties are at risk for flooding, the flood maps help business owners and residents make more informed decisions about personal safety and financially protecting their property.

If your property is impacted by the map update, you should have been notified by separate letter by the City of Beachwood. Impacted properties include properties that were identified previously in a flood hazard area and have been removed and properties that were not previously in a flood hazard area and now have been identified.

In order to view the new maps and discuss these changes and their potential implications, there is a Flood Risk Information Open House scheduled for April 14, 2009 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the following location:

Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District
4747 East 49th Street
Cuyahoga Heights, OH 44125
