Beachwood Leaders Grateful To Residents And Businesses For Levy Support
BEACHWOOD, OHIO – “The voters of Beachwood should commend themselves for making a tough, but wise decision,” said Beachwood Council President Mark Mintz after Beachwood voters approved the city’s first income tax hike since 1991.
“Much credit goes to the Beachwood business community for their support, as well,” said Beachwood Mayor Merle Gorden. “Specifically, I must thank the Beachwood Chamber of Commerce, as well as the unions and city employees, for their support and confidence in our administration.”
“The City of Beachwood has a long history as a provider of first class services that was underscored and affirmed by this ballot victory. While the half-percent income tax increase will assist with our immediate budget shortfall, we pledge to continue to review expenditures and implement prudent financial strategies,” said Gorden.
