Senior Homestead Exemption Program

What's new in the homestead program? The elimination of income requirements!

Effective this summer, the real property tax homestead exemption in Ohio is available to all senior citizens age 65 and older, regardless of income.

Representatives of County Auditor Frank Russo will be at the Beachwood Community Center on Monday, September 10th from 8:30 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. to discuss the new Senior Homestead Exemption Program.

Under the new program every senior citizen homeowner will receive an exemption of $25,000 on the market value of their home from property taxes, regardless of their income.

The deadline for new applications is October 1, 2007.
