Mission
The mission of the City of Beachwood's Economic Development effort is the proactive pursuit of improving the economic base of the City, focusing on enhancing the tax base, increasing the number and quality of jobs available to local residents, improving the visual quality and enhancing the exposure and visibility of the City.
Overview
The City fulfills this mission primarily through the retention of existing businesses, attraction of new businesses and the facilitation of property development.

Tremco Incorporated
Tremco headquarters recently completed a multi-million dollar renovation of their 40 year-old building. This showcase of sustainability is one of the US Green Building Council's few LEED-Gold certified facilities in the State of Ohio. |

Beachwood High School
A new classroom wing, performing arts suite, and physical education addition highlight the construction plans, which also include enhancements to the facility's utilities and technology infrastructure. While phases of the project will be completed sooner, the project is scheduled to be completed in its entirety by the Fall of 2013. |

Kathy Risman Pavilion
A 60,000 square foot pavilion adjacent to University Hospitals Ahuja Medial Center features outpatient primary and specialty care. This facility has an independent patient entrance with a protective canopy and an internal connection with the hospital for efficient coordination of medical care. |

Eaton Corporation World Headquarters
Construction is underway on the 580,000 square foot LEED certified global headquarters which will house approximately 700 Eaton employees. The facility will be located on 53 acres and will feature covered parking, walking trails, a fitness center, conference and meeting spaces, and an auditorium. |

Porsche Beachwood
Ohio's largest exclusive Porsche dealership opened this Fall 2011. Penske Automotive Group multi-million dollar renovation and expansion on Chagrin Blvd. will be Cleveland's Center for all things Porsche. |

Nordstrom
With a total interior facelift, Nordstrom patrons will enjoy a completely refreshed shopping experience by year end including their latest restaurant concept, 6th & Pine, a hip diner with the heart of a deli. |

Beachwood Municipal Service Center
The City of Beachwood recently relocated its municipal service operation to a 170,000 square foot facility in Commerce Park enabling over $4 million in equipment to be protected from inclement weather. This relocation also improved stormwater management. The site features 5,000 ton salt storage, a 100% increase to the City's existing supply. |

University Hospitals Ahuja Medical Center
A 144 bed full-service hospital with adjacent medical office building. The nearly $150 million project is Phase One of a multi-stage construction program with plans to grow to 600 beds and three medical office buildings. |

Mandel Jewish Community Center of Cleveland
A $15 million transformational renovation and expansion of its 130,000 square foot facility offering opportunities to enjoy leisure, recreation, culture, sports and fitness. |

Fuchs Mizrachi School
An Orthodox Jewish college preparatory day school consolidating its early childhood, lower and upper school programs into a new $20 million 100,000 square foot building. |

Beachwood Plaza
Currently undergoing nearly a $500,000 renovation of 30,000 square feet of interior offices, common area, restrooms, exterior windows, doors, parking deck and landscaping. |

- Developers Diversified Realty Corporation (2009): Added 140,000 square feet to its headquarters.
- New Construction
- University Hospital’s Ahuja Medical Center (2010): A state-of-the-art, 144-bed, seven-story facility that is 432,000 square feet, located on 53 acres at Richmond Road and Harvard.
- Renovation /New Occupancy
- Jewish Community Federation/Mandel Building (2010): $16 million project to move the Federation to Science Park Drive.

Employment Connection (EC) helps employers and job seekers connect, improving the competitiveness or our local economy..
Employers: EC can help assess your workforce needs, provide you with information about hiring incentives, help you develop a recruiting strategy and even assist you with the recruitment process through pre-employment screening, testing, on-site interviews and other services. Training grants may also be available to assist you with improving the skills of current employees, or to get necessary training for new hires.
Job-Seekers: EC can enhance your job-seeking skills by providing job search and placement assistance; making employer connections; providing workspace; and assisting you with self-directed services at home or at their facilities.
